Privacy Policy — Biblia Reina Valera: Versículo

Data controller: Christian Ali Kuri Martinez (individual owner) App: Biblia Reina Valera: Versículo (iOS, identifier com.kuri.biblia) Privacy and support contact: soporte@velitadiaria.com Website: https://velitadiaria.com Effective date: July 24, 2026

Biblia Reina Valera: Versículo (the “app”) is a daily Bible habit app: one verse, one reflection, and one prayer each day, with a streak that records your consistency. We designed the app so that your spiritual life stays yours: there are no accounts, no sign-up, we do not sell your data, and we do not show ads. This policy explains, clearly and without fine print, what data the app handles, where that data lives, and what control you have over it.

1. At a glance

  • We do not ask for an account or registration. We do not know your email address, your phone number, or your identity.
  • Your personal information stays on your device. Your name (if you choose to enter it), your onboarding answers, your birthday (month and day only, no year), your streak, and your saved readings are stored locally on your iPhone.
  • Usage analytics is optional and under your control. Outside the European Union it is on by default to help us improve the app; in the EU, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom it stays off until you turn it on. Either way, you can change it at any time in Settings.
  • We never send to any server your name, your birthday, the text of your prayers, or your specific spiritual answers.
  • We use three technical providers (RevenueCat for purchases, PostHog for optional analytics, Sentry for crash diagnostics) and the iCloud of your own Apple account to back up your streak. Below we explain exactly what each one receives.

2. Data that stays on your device

The app stores locally what it needs to personalize and operate your daily habit:

  • Your name (optional), which we use solely to personalize the prayer of the day. It is stored on your device and is not transmitted to any server.
  • Your onboarding answers (for example, your Christian tradition, how you prefer to address God, your preferred prayer time). They are used only to personalize the content and live on your device.
  • Your preferences: language, reminder times, reverent silence, text size, and your choice about usage analytics.
  • Your birthday, month and day only (no year), if you choose to set it, so we can show you a greeting on that day. It does not leave the device.
  • Your streak and history: the dates (calendar days) on which you completed your devotional and which content corresponded to each day.
  • Your treasured readings (the ones you mark to keep).
  • Technical operating data: a local queue holding the “Amen” event when you complete it from the widget (which is sent to analytics only if you gave your consent; otherwise it is discarded), a minimal copy of your subscription status so the widget knows whether you have access, the start date of your free trial (so we can remind you before it ends), and a flag noting whether we have already asked you for a review (so we do not ask again).

This data is removed from your device when you delete the app. The only exception is the streak backup in your iCloud, described in section 5.4.

3. Transmissions you initiate

Some features send information only when you ask for it, and only to the destination you choose:

  • Sharing a card: when you share a verse, the app hands the image and text to the destination you select (the iOS share sheet, Instagram Stories, Facebook Stories, the clipboard, or your photo library). From that moment on, the privacy practices of the destination you chose apply (for example, Meta’s if you share to Instagram). To save to your photo library, the app requests the “add only” Photos permission: it can save images, but it cannot view or read your photos.
  • Support email: the “Contact support” option prepares a draft email in your mail app that includes the app version, your language, and your iOS version, to help us assist you. You decide whether to send it and what to write in it. If you write to us, your email address and the content of your message are used solely to respond to you, and are kept only as long as necessary to handle your request.

4. Usage analytics is optional and under your control (PostHog)

The app can send product analytics to PostHog, Inc. (a provider with servers in the United States) to understand how the app is used and improve it. The default state depends on your region: outside the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, analytics is on by default; inside those regions (GDPR / UK GDPR) it stays off until you turn it on. Either way, you can turn it on or off at any time in Settings, and while it is off the app does not even configure that service.

If you choose to turn it on:

  • Only events from a closed list of product interactions are sent (for example: onboarding screen viewed, onboarding completed, paywall viewed, purchase started, “Amen” of the day), with limited properties of a technical or categorical nature (for example, the duration in seconds of a step).
  • Events travel with an anonymous per-install identifier generated by PostHog. We do not use the person-identification feature: we never send your name, your birthday, the Bible text you read, your prayers, or your specific religious answers.
  • Basis for your choice: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

If you withdraw consent, the app immediately stops capturing and sending events, activates the opt-out in the SDK itself, and deletes the local queue of pending events. Events that PostHog has already received while your consent was active are retained by that service under its retention policy; if you wish to request their deletion, write to us at soporte@velitadiaria.com and we will handle the request with the provider (see section 8).

5. Technical providers: what each one receives and why

We do not operate our own servers. We use these services, each with a narrowly defined role:

5.1 RevenueCat and Apple (purchases and subscriptions)

To process your subscription and restore your access, RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) and Apple process: the product identifiers, your purchase and subscription history and status (including the free trial, the purchase date, and the expiration date), and an anonymous install identifier generated by RevenueCat. It is not linked to your name or to any account of ours, because no accounts exist. Purpose: to give you access to what you purchased, restore it if you reinstall, and measure subscription status. The payment itself is processed by Apple under its own terms; we never see your card or your banking details.

5.2 Sentry (crash diagnostics)

To keep the app stable, Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., United States) receives technical diagnostics when the app fails: crash reports, errors, system-forced terminations, interface hangs, and technical measurements of the app’s launch. We configure Sentry in its most restrictive mode: no personal data by default, no screenshots, no view hierarchy, no navigation breadcrumbs, no session replay, no activity logs; in addition, technical performance data is scrubbed on the device before being sent. As with any communication over the internet, the server that receives the report observes the connection’s IP address at delivery time; we do not use it to identify you or for any other purpose. Purpose: to detect and fix failures.

5.3 No advertising and no tracking

The app does not integrate advertising networks or data brokers, does not use your data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we have disabled the tracking and autocapture features of the SDKs we use. We do not sell or rent data to anyone.

5.4 iCloud (backup of your streak)

So that your streak is never lost — even if you delete the app and reinstall it, or switch iPhones — the app stores in the iCloud key-value storage of your own Apple account a minimal copy of the streak: the format version, the civil start date, and the list of completed days (with the completion type and, optionally, the identifier of that day’s content). It does not include your name, your birthday, your prayers, or Bible text. This backup lives in your iCloud account, administered by Apple under its own terms; it is deleted through iCloud’s own mechanisms (for example, by managing the app’s data in your device’s iCloud settings).

6. International transfers

The providers described (PostHog, RevenueCat, and Sentry) process data in the United States. This means that the technical and pseudonymous data described in this policy may be transferred to and stored outside your country. These providers declare protection mechanisms for international transfers in accordance with applicable rules (such as standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework). Remember that your most sensitive data — name, spiritual answers, prayers, birthday — is not transferred to any provider.

7. Data retention

  • On your device: local data is kept while the app is installed and is deleted when you remove it.
  • In your iCloud: the streak backup remains in your iCloud account until you delete it through iCloud’s mechanisms.
  • With the providers: analytics events (if you enabled analytics), purchase records, and crash diagnostics are retained under each provider’s retention periods, which are the standard ones for their service. If you want us to handle the deletion of data associated with your installation, write to us (section 8).
  • Support emails: kept for as long as necessary to handle your request.

8. Your rights

Depending on the legislation that applies to you (for example, the GDPR in the European Union or Mexico’s Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP)), you may exercise rights of access, rectification, deletion, objection, and withdrawal of consent. In practice, and by the app’s design:

  • Most of your data is already under your direct control: it lives on your device and you can modify it in Settings or delete it by removing the app.
  • Withdrawing analytics consent is a switch in Settings, at no cost and with no effect on how the app works.
  • For data already held by a provider (analytics, purchases, diagnostics), write to us at soporte@velitadiaria.com and we will handle your request. Please keep in mind an honest consequence of having no accounts: because we do not know who you are, locating pseudonymous data may require you to provide us with technical information from your device (or we may simply have to confirm that we cannot link you to any data, which is the most common outcome).
  • If you believe we did not handle your request properly, you may contact the data protection authority of your country.

9. Children’s privacy

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store because its content is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from minors. The app has no accounts and does not ask for contact details, and the optional analytics described in section 4 collects no personal data and can be turned off at any time. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has sent us personal data (for example, via a support email), write to us and we will delete it.

10. Security

All communication between the app and the providers travels encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Local data is stored in the protected containers of your device’s iOS system. No system is infallible, but this app’s best protection is structural: the most sensitive data never leaves your iPhone.
